The project consisted of adapting an old, single story, 2,000 square feet wood frame house that had been moved to its present 2 acre site several years before, into an animal clinic with the addition of approximately 1,900 square feet of area. The new building included the following spaces: Reception, Waiting, Treatment, Surgical Preparation, Surgery, X Ray, Pharmacy, Grooming, Canine & Feline Isolation and air conditioned Boarding areas.

The adaptation of the old house required the following: 1. Addition of thermal insulation to floors, walls and roof and replacement of exterior doors and windows for energy efficiency and comfort. 2. Barrier removal for accessibility including addition of ramps and signage and replacement of restrooms, doors, door hardware and cabinetry, 3. Reinforcing and securing of structural floor and roof members, 4. Replacement of electrical and plumbing systems, 5. Patching & refinishing of existing wood floors and new required parking.
